Position Summary
Job Description:
The Planner is responsible for providing the manufacturing floor with schedules and priorities daily to meet customer requirements. Using the ERP system, they will check order status and provide information on customer service when requested. They will work closely with procurement and manufacturing to ensure material and capacity are in place to achieve best in class customer service.
Essential Functions:
  • Create and release work orders and maintain production schedules using ERP system
  • Review Daily customer requirements, work center capacity and prioritize flow of work
  • Communicate scheduling issues and conflicts with impacted departments or personnel
  • Investigate material shortages and work with procurement to expedite as required
  • Using the plan for every part process, establish best part flow for optimal inventory levels
  • Analyze work center capacity and communicate recommended changes to operations team
  • Track job status through the production floor and communicate status to customer service
  • Provide shipment commit dates and changes to delivery plan in a timely manner
  • Recommend ideas to reduce lead times, increase efficiency and increase on time delivery
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by assisting with cycle counts and inventory discrepancies
  • Work with quality and engineering to execute change orders and to priorities incoming material
  • Participate in forecast meetings with Sales, Production, and other related departments.
  • Evaluate customer forecasts and past due performance to balance long term supply and demand
  • Other responsibilities as required

Qualification Requirements:
  • 4-year college degree in business, materials management, engineering, or supply preferred or relevant experience related
  • Working knowledge of ERP system for material planning and production scheduling.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel in particular, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface.
