Part-Time Retail Buyer

Location: Glacier Park International Airport (GPIA) – Kalispell, MT

Company: MCS Burbank, LLC

The Flathead Mercantile, a retail concessionaire at Glacier Park International Airport, is seeking an experienced and passionate Part-Time Retail Buyer to join our team. We operate a diverse retail space focused on providing high-quality, memorable products for travelers visiting and departing from Montana.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in curating a selection of products that showcase the best of the Flathead Valley and Montana to a tourist-focused audience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source, select, and purchase a wide variety of merchandise, with a strong focus on local artisan-produced, Montana-related apparel, gifts, souvenirs, and pre-packaged food items.
  • Manage inventory levels, purchase orders, and vendor relationships to ensure optimal stock and competitive pricing for products sold in an airport environment.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to identify new product opportunities and optimize existing product lines.
  • Ensure all procured products align with the aesthetic of the Airport Terminal Building.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Retail Buyer or similar role in an environment focused on tourism or visitor-based retail. Five Years minimum experience required
  • Required Experience (One or more of the following):
    • Experience buying for an airport retail location.
    • Experience in sourcing and buying "Made in Montana" or local artisan goods.
  • Strong understanding of the Kalispell/Flathead Valley market and local businesses is a plus.
