Retail Media Buyer
(This role will be based out of our Syracuse, New York or Rochester, New York offices, or remote within the United States)
Position Overview
Pinckney Hugo Group is seeking a Retail Media Buyer to support national CPG clients across leading retailer media platforms. This is a hands-on keyboard role responsible for building, activating, optimizing, and reporting on campaigns across retail media ecosystems.
This position works closely with our Shopper Marketing, Media Strategy, and Analytics teams to develop full-funnel retail media programs spanning onsite search, onsite display, and offsite media.
Responsibilities:
  • Execute retail media campaigns across platforms including Walmart Connect, Kroger Precision Marketing (KPM), Meijer, H-E-B, Albertsons, and Publix
  • Build and manage campaigns across:
    • Retail Search (Sponsored Products / Keyword Bidding)
    • Onsite Display (Banner, PDP, Category placements)
    • Offsite Media (Programmatic, social extensions, audience targeting)
  • Perform hands-on campaign setup, trafficking, bid management, and optimization within each platform
  • Monitor pacing, budgets, and performance daily; proactively adjust to meet KPIs
  • Partner with Shopper Marketing to align media strategies with in-store, ecommerce, and promotional initiatives
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends, insights, and optimization opportunities
  • Develop reporting and dashboards highlighting ROAS, ROI, new-to-brand shoppers, and incrementality
  • Communicate performance, insights, and recommendations to internal teams and clients
  • Stay current on retail media trends, beta opportunities, and platform changes

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in digital media buying with direct retail media platform experience
  • Executes campaigns independently with guidance
  • Contributes to optimization and reporting
  • Hands-on experience with one or more: Walmart Connect, Kroger, Meijer, H-E-B, Albertsons, Publix
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Retail search and keyword strategy
    • Onsite display formats and audience targeting
    • Offsite retail media extensions
  • Experience working with CPG brands strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and optimize toward performance KPIs
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Total compensation for this role is designed to be competitive with the market. The anticipated salary range for this Syracuse, NY-based position is $65,000 to $80,000 per year.
