Job description


The Planner develops and maintains detailed manufacturing plans and work instructions to support the production and assembly of complex aircraft components. This role ensures that customer specifications and purchase orders translate into clear, compliant, and efficient internal processes. The Planner collaborates closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and other internal teams to schedule workflows, manage work orders, and monitor performance using ERP and related tools.
Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret customer specifications to ensure full compliance with processing and manufacturing requirements.
  • Verify customer purchase orders to confirm that internal processes can meet all specified requirements and constraints.
  • Develop detailed, step-by-step work instructions for the manufacturing of complex machined parts and the assembly of aircraft components.
  • Determine when additional sketches, visual aids, or documentation are required to support clear and accurate production instructions.
  • Analyze customer engineering drawings and models to identify configuration requirements and any necessary configuration changes.
  • Create work orders and certification documents to ensure proper flow down of technical information and objective evidence of specification conformance.
  • Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation based on established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Generate all external and internal rework work orders to support corrective actions and process adjustments.
  • Adjust internal work order process steps as needed to reflect changes in requirements, priorities, or process improvements.
  • Monitor the MRP dashboard on a daily basis to track planning status, material availability, and production progress.
  • Conduct training related to planning processes and ITAR/EAR requirements to ensure consistent compliance and understanding within the team.
  • Track and report daily performance metrics for all Planners to support continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support planning, scheduling, and manufacturing operations.

Essential Skills
  • 2-5 years of experience in planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems for planning, scheduling, and work order management.
  • Proficiency with Excel for data analysis, reporting, and tracking planning activities.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly for complex machined parts and assemblies.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze engineering drawings and models.
  • Demonstrated capability to develop clear, detailed work instructions and process documentation.
  • Experience with planning workflows across multiple departments and operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to ensuring compliance with customer specifications and internal standards.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and conduct training.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple work orders, schedules, and priorities simultaneously.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $35.00/hr.
