What jobs in the US pay 300,000 a year?

Such compensation often includes bonuses, commissions, or profit-sharing, and may involve leadership responsibilities or specialized skills. Entry-level or mid-tier roles generally do not reach this salary level without significant advancement.

What are some common challenges faced by Associate Account Managers when balancing multiple client accounts?

Associate Account Managers often juggle several client accounts simultaneously, which can make prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines challenging. Effective time management and strong organizational skills are essential to ensure that each client receives timely communication and support. Additionally, adapting quickly to changing client needs and collaborating with internal teams to address issues can be demanding but is crucial for maintaining client satisfaction and building long-term relationships.

Understanding these differences helps in choosing the right career path or job search focus.

What does an associate account manager do?

An associate account manager supports client accounts by assisting with communication, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction. They often handle account updates, coordinate with sales and support teams, and use customer relationship management (CRM) tools to track interactions. This role typically requires strong communication skills and attention to detail.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Associate Account Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Associate Account Manager, you need strong organizational skills, customer relationship management abilities, and a bachelor's degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM software like Salesforce, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and sometimes industry-specific certifications are commonly required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills help you build trust and collaborate effectively with both clients and internal teams. These skills ensure client satisfaction, efficient account coordination, and the overall growth of business relationships.

What is an Associate Account Manager?

An Associate Account Manager is an entry- to mid-level professional responsible for supporting senior account managers in building and maintaining relationships with clients. Their duties often include assisting with client communications, preparing reports, coordinating between departments, and ensuring client satisfaction. They may also help manage projects, track performance metrics, and identify opportunities to grow accounts. This role serves as a stepping stone to more senior account management positions.

What is the average salary for an account manager?

The average salary for an associate account manager typically ranges from $50,000 to $70,000 annually, depending on experience, industry, and location. Entry-level positions may start lower, while experienced account managers with certifications and strong client management skills can earn higher salaries, often supplemented with bonuses or commissions.

Will AI replace account managers?

AI can automate routine tasks for associate account managers, such as data analysis and reporting, but it is unlikely to fully replace the role. Account managers rely on interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and relationship building, which are difficult for AI to replicate. Therefore, AI is more likely to serve as a tool to enhance their productivity rather than replace them entirely.

Job Summary:

The Associate Account Manager role is a hands-on, developmental opportunity for early-career or pivoting professionals eager to grow into account or territory management. In this field-based role, you’ll support and help expand customer programs by ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time, engaging with plant personnel on-site, and learning the full lifecycle of account management—from inventory execution to identifying new business opportunities. You’ll partner with Strategic Account Managers (SAMs), Inventory Solutions team members, and product teams to respond to customer needs, prepare purposeful visits, and contribute to strategic growth.

We’re looking for someone who is curious, service-minded, and adaptable—comfortable in food and dairy manufacturing environments, confident working independently, and motivated to learn. A background in inventory, customer service, or operations is helpful, and an interest in building a career with customers at the center is key. Regional travel makes up about 75% of your week, with occasional overnight stays and infrequent national travel for team meetings or industry events. A company-issued vehicle is provided, and a valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and ability to fly domestically are required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support customer sites through on-site service, including inventory support, product labeling, and order coordination.
  • Perform Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) tasks such as usage tracking, scanning, reporting, and maintaining accurate stock levels.
  • Build strong customer relationships by serving as a reliable, in-person contact and responding promptly to needs or inquiries.
  • Assist in the execution of strategic growth plans by preparing purposeful visits, identifying opportunities, and profiling accounts.
  • Document interactions in the CRM and coordinate internally to ensure timely and complete program fulfillment.
  • Shadow Account Managers to learn account lifecycle management and support expansion efforts across assigned accounts.
  • Travel regionally (approximately 75%), primarily via day trips with occasional overnight stays.

Our organization is committed to operating ethically and respecting people, our community, and the environment. With us, you’ll become part of a hard-working team that takes pride in providing safe, high-quality food to communities around the world.

With Nelson-Jameson, you’ll receive:

  • Comprehensive Health Benefits with your choice of benefits to match your unique needs.
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Competitive Compensation: Base salary around $58,000+ with opportunity to earn additional variable compensation related to sales goals
  • Established territory
  • Paid time off at time of hire
  • Annual allowance for company-branded clothing
  • Annual Wellness Stipend & other wellness programs
  • Company provided cell phone, credit card, and vehicle
  • And much more!

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Required:
    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
    • Experience: Previous experience in sales, customer service, inventory, food or dairy manufacturing, or related field (this may include internships, part-time roles, or volunteer experience)
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a passion for providing timely, attentive, and solution-oriented customer service.
    • Independent, self-starter mindset with the ability to manage a territory and schedule effectively.
    • Willingness to work in varying plant environments requiring applicable PPE to be worn.
    • Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Office products, along with willingness and ability to learn new software such as CRM and ERP systems.
    • Travel: Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time, primarily for regional day-travel within a 300 mile radius of Phoenix. This includes occasional overnight stays and infrequent national travel for internal meetings, trade shows, or industry events. Must possess a valid driver’s license, an insurable driving record, and the ability to meet documentation requirements for domestic air travel.
