Position Purpose

Under the supervision of the building principal, the Assistant Secretary supports the daily operations of the middle school office by assisting students, families, staff, and visitors while helping maintain efficient communication and organization within the building.

This position plays an important role in ensuring students are accounted for, communication is timely, and the office environment is welcoming and professional.

What You'll Do / Performance Responsibilities

  • Responsible for taking and monitoring student attendance
  • Contact parents/guardians regarding student absences as needed
  • Maintain documentation related to attendance and parent communication
  • Communicate absentee information to appropriate staff members
  • Assist students, families, staff, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Support daily office operations and clerical tasks
  • Organize and reproduce materials for teachers and staff
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive school environment
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the principal or superintendent
