Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Administrative Secretary provides administrative support to functional managerial staff and assists with operations as required.
The Administrative Secretary prepares reports and presentations, coordinates meetings and functions, maintains office supplies, responds to routine mail correspondence, and handles departmental inquiries, ensuring efficient business operations. The Administrative Secretary ensures accurate and complete dissemination of information to managers and staff. This position develops and implements office procedures and processes that support operations and changing business needs. The Administrative Secretary prepares and distributes organizational meeting minutes.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Associate's Degree in related field or specialized secretarial training required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years secretarial experience required, minimum 2 years at a senior level.
Well-developed communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required. Proficiency with computer applications required. Knowledge of medical terminology and/or transcription may be required within some medical departments.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury.
Position requires desk/computer work for a majority of the time. Requires some walking and standing and occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. Position requires increased amounts of repetitive motion with regard to typing.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to the function Director, Physician-Medical Director/Department Chair or a Business Unit Director.
