Job description

Assistant Production Supervisor

Our client is seeking a proactive, people‐centered Assistant Production Supervisor to support daily operations within a fast‐paced manufacturing department. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on coaching teams, solving problems on the fly, and keeping production running smoothly. You'll partner closely with the Production Supervisor to coordinate workflow, guide employees, and uphold high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a working understanding of filter production processes and product applications
  • Support day‐to‐day department operations to meet delivery goals while minimizing overtime
  • Review production reports and schedules to help plan and adjust workflow
  • Assist with scheduling production activities using Oracle‐based systems
  • Cross‐train, rotate, and support employees to maintain a flexible, capable workforce
  • Help train new hires and internal transfers
  • Participate in conducting and documenting semi‐annual performance evaluations
  • Provide input on personnel decisions and help resolve customer service concerns
  • Collaborate with supervisors, HR, and support teams to maintain smooth operations
  • Champion Lean initiatives within the department and contribute to plant‐wide projects
  • Promote a clean, organized, and hazard‐free work environment
  • Reinforce safety policies, PPE requirements, and Lock‐Out/Tag‐Out procedures
  • Ensure employees follow Best Work Practices (BWPs) and receive required training

Schedule & Pay: Full‐time, direct‐hire role. First shift: Monday–Thursday 6:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., Friday 6:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Pay is $27.50/hour with full benefits.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience with the LEAN manufacturing model
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid math and computer proficiency
  • Demonstrated people‐management and time‐management abilities
  • Able to multitask and work independently or collaboratively
  • Forklift certification helpful but not required
  • Ability to read tape measures and understand fractions to 1/16 "
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for most of the shift
