The Team:
This role is a part of the production management team. The team works with and supports Co-Workers, Management, Human Resources, Customer Teams, Quality, Engineering, and the Training Department.

The Role: 
This position is responsible for coordinating both work and personnel scheduling to support an efficient production process flow. The role includes supervising production team members with a focus on developing their skills, supporting advancement, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. In addition to overseeing daily operations, this position plays a key role in monitoring performance, identifying opportunities to enhance workflow, and implementing improvements. The role also offers meaningful opportunities for professional growth.

You will spend your time:

  • Prioritizing and coordinating all work activities for co-workers across multiple work centers
  • Working with management and the team to meet corporate objectives
  • Coordinating production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers
  • Communicating needs and statuses between areas of the production floor. This includes communication to internal departments.
  • Monitoring performance of co-workers and providing feedback to the co-workers
  • Identifying training opportunities/requirements and recommend training to co-workers
  • Training, mentoring and encouraging co-worker growth and engagement
  • Managing, reviewing and editing timecards for co-workers
  • Ensuring consistent allowance of time for breaks, lunches and training for co-workers 
  • Measuring and publishing department utilization 
  • Utilizing time management skills to manage work load efficiently 
  • Recommending department overtime needs to Shift Leader and Production Manager
  • Leading or assisting with lean activities such as 5S audits, Gemba walks, JDI’s and work center performance appraisals
  • Other duties assigned as needed

  • An understanding of and ability to interpret Manufacturing Instructions, Work Instructions/Procedures/Forms, Inspection Data, part drawings and Work Order data
  • Ability to manage your time efficiently and without direct supervision
  • Ability to learn and adhere to all applicable health and safety regulations as well as LEAN manufacturing
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to learn the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery
  • Familiarity with the materials, tools and methods of the process
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills required
  • Knowledge of and ability to learn MRP/MRPII and Epicor software’s

Work Environment: Manufacturing Floor

Travel:

  • This position may travel between the Lewiston and Winona facilities.
  • Infrequent travel for training and/or business needs may be required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling
  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit
  • Lift up to 30 pounds independently; up to 70 pounds with assistance
