Description
  • Must have outstanding attendance record and able to work ALL shifts in training or on a rotational basis
  • Understand how to properly open and close facility, to include proper start-up and shutdown of machinery
  • Assign associates to utilize provided material and machinery to maximize productivity and minimize waste
  • Understand and require associates to safely package material according to FDA, Quality and Customer-specific requirements
  • Support and meet production goals defined by Plant Manager
  • Maintain sufficient raw materials on the production floor to meet production schedules
  • Maintain accuracy of inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-process and finished goods
  • Maintain accuracy of all associated production and quality audit records
  • Demand a safe work environment for yourself and your associates. Report work-related safety issues to maintenance and plant management
  • Build a strong, efficient, well-trained production team. Provide daily feedback and training to the team. Conduct performance appraisals or disciplinary actions as may be required in timely and effective

manner, recognizing good performance and manage low performance. Coach, mentor and develop in a positive manner
  • Seek out and suggest continuous improvements to production flow, cost initiatives, and safety
  • Maintain a good rapport with other areas within the company so that any issues can be resolved and improved
  • May be responsible for managing a shift in the Supervisor's absence

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND TRAINING:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel and all spreadsheet applications
  • Support performance evaluations by the Shift Supervisor and routinely provide performance feedback to direct reports
  • Ability to build solid cross-functional relationships across the organization
  • Effective personal time management and strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Electronic Time/Attendance system knowledge and maintenance
  • Knowledge and Application of Production FDA Standards
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Flexibility to changing work environment/conditions

EDUCATION:
Associate Degree (preferred) in Manufacturing/Industrial Technology, Engineering or Business preferred. Previous experience within a Supervisory role in Manufacturing environment may be considered in lieu of an Associate Degree
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders
  • Must be able to be fork-lift certified and use the fork-lift functionality during the shift
  • Work with strong fragrances, esters and in dust particulate environment and varying temperature changes
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull boxes/cartons (45#) on frequent basis and perform line audits or quality inspections as required
  • May be required to troubleshoot mechanical systems
  • Maintain and blend dry additive needs supporting all Repack Production Requirements
  • Frequent overtime work may be required and must be able to work weekends and holidays to support business demands and scheduling
  • Must be able to work any assigned shift and assist with coverage as needed
