Job Title: Production Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Manager to join our client's manufacturing team. This role is responsible for overseeing daily production operations while actively supporting packaging activities to ensure products meet the highest quality and compliance standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, can effectively supervise team members, and is committed to safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProduction Operations
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and supervising daily production activities.
  • Execute production schedules while meeting quality, safety, and output goals.
  • Monitor workflow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Coordinate staffing assignments based on production priorities.
  • Verify all production activities follow SOPs, Batch Production Records, and manufacturing protocols.
  • Assist with inventory coordination and communicate production material needs.
Packaging & Quality
  • Accurately package products according to company specifications and quality standards.
  • Inspect products for defects or inconsistencies prior to packaging.
  • Seal, label, and prepare finished products for shipment and distribution.
  • Organize packaged inventory for storage and shipping.
  • Maintain inventory of packaging materials and communicate shortages.
  • Ensure packaging areas remain clean, organized, and inspection-ready.
Team Leadership
  • Supervise, coach, and support Production Technicians.
  • Assist with onboarding, cross-training, and employee development.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide performance coaching and support production goals.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with all DCC regulations, cGMP standards, OSHA requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation and reporting.
  • Identify and report production deviations or quality concerns.
  • Ensure equipment cleaning, sanitation, and preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
  • Promote a safe workplace by enforcing PPE requirements and safety procedures.
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions when necessary.
Communication & Collaboration
  • Communicate production status, staffing needs, and operational challenges to the Production Manager.
  • Partner with Packaging, Compliance, and Inventory teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Escalate operational issues requiring management attention.
QualificationsRequired
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass all required background checks.
  • Ability to remain compliant with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift and move materials as required.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
Preferred
  • Cannabis manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with California DCC regulations.
  • Experience with METRC.
  • Experience working in GMP-regulated industries such as food manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, or consumer packaged goods.
  • Previous packaging or manufacturing experience.
