What you will be responsible for in this role:
Create a production plan based on the master schedule for the production lines. Balance
the production plan according to internal capacities and constraints on the manufacturing
line(s).
Updates production orders to reflect changes in BOM's.
Expedite and assign priorities to production orders in ERP/AS400, cascading priorities to
internal material supply chain.
Be the champion for cleaning material backflush issues at close of work orders at end of
line and driving accountability from production and engineering to prevent these from
happening.
Provide information to master scheduler and planning supervisor about production order
and expedites status for effective communication to internal and external customers.
Coordinates reschedules of production orders based on material availability.
Process and track material rejects for internal suppliers for evaluation and processing
scrap. Quickly and effectively shifts gears to meet changing business requirements.
Have a solid working knowledge of BOMs, Routings and Operations.
Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Assist operations in the development and execution of production schedules consistent
with the overall building and shipping schedule of the company. Coordinates with
supporting departments to ensure that an adequate supply of materials arrive at the right
place in a timely manner.
Leverage our internal ERP system (AS400) to schedule production lines in most efficient
and effective manner, to ensure the efficient flow of materials throughout the Plant for
assigned lines. This involves working closely with production, quality, engineering,
procurement and inside sales departments to set up maximize output and customer
satisfaction.
Review of inventory levels and customer orders for the company's distribution network,
recommend system adjustments to achieve high levels of internal customer service
while marinating low level of inventory.
Communication with both internal and external customers/partners/vendors to be
effective in the execution of the daily business related to production lines and raw
materials movement.
Identify parts used on the assigned product line and verify placement location on the
product itself; also utilize work order information.
Utilize modeling data & obtain collaborative feedback to perform optimization simulations
and recovery scheduling.
Maintains work area in clean, safe, and orderly manner.
Understand procedures for ordering supplies used in work area.
Uses proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation on individual's
product line or work cell, and specific types of clothing allowed and not allowed at work.
What are the basic qualifications?
HS Diploma
3+ years of Materials and Logistics/Planning experience in a demanding complex
manufacturing environment.
What are the preferred qualifications?
Bachelor's in Supply Chain Management.
