Job description

Job Overview:

The Innkeeper will be responsible for all functions relating directly to the Inn. The Innkeeper will make sure that all guests and questions are answered sufficiently, in a professional manner, and up to the standards of the company. The Inn should be well kept with coordinating housekeeping duties and maintenance as needed. This person will coordinate and book all events through the Inn, including setting up the continental breakfast. Assisting in housekeeping duties and monitoring washing/dry cleaning may occur.

Schedule:

Varying hours needed-approximately 20-30 hours per week based on season and bookings

Weekend availability mandatory

Qualifications:

  • Some colleges preferred; a high school diploma required
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in a hospitality setting with a strong customer service focus preferred
  • Highly motivated, independent, and able to take direction well
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Strong communication skills,
  • Strong computer skills, including putting in what she needs experience with
  • Knowledge of wine and wine tasting experiences preferred
  • A team player and possess a "can do" leadership attitude

Duties and Responsibilities

Guest Services

  • Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests service needs, assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation
  • Maintain a friendly and accommodating attitude for guests
  • Act as a resource for guests who inquire about the property, their personal stay, future trips in the area, etc.
  • Answer, record, and process all guest calls, requests, questions, or concerns; follow up to confirm that each has been met to guests' satisfaction
  • Uses proper telephone etiquette
  • Supply guests with directions and information
  • Develops relationships within the community to strengthen and expand the customer base
  • Verify and adjust billing for guests
  • Transportation service for guests/visitors

Administrative

  • Serve as main caretaker and host of the property and guest's experience
  • Always maintain essential functions of the property and supervisor house
  • Book and coordinate all events through the Inn
  • Prepare continental breakfast for all guests
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping staff to track room status and guest concerns
  • Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery
  • Inspect cleanliness of articles removed from the washer, dryer, or dry-cleaning machines and place in clean linen carts.
  • Coordinate daily wine and cheese hour
  • Attend weekly/monthly meetings as requested
  • Knows all safety and emergency procedures, is aware of accident prevention policies
  • Maintain essential documentation for guest's stay, welcome letter
  • Supports front desk area and staff by answering phones and email
  • Reports unusual occurrences or requests to the Co-Owners and/or Human Resources
  • Maintains quest records for ongoing follow-up and marketing

Maintenance

  • Maintain function and quality of furniture and fixtures in all Inn units
  • Directly reports to maintenance for urgent requests that need to be taken care of promptly and effective

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Assist with maintaining a high cleanliness standard
  • Identifies and owns the standards for Vintner's Inn customer experience
  • Positive feedback from the client and guests regarding the entire stay within 30 days of the checkout date
  • Strong team player maintaining relationships and open lines of communication across departments, community members, and guests
  • Maintains high occupancy rate
  • Adheres to budget and revenue goals
