Assistant Cook

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $16.25-$19.04 per hour

Expected Hours: 32.5/week

Shift: 12:00pm-6:30pm

Assistant Cook Job Description:
The assistant cook sees the kitchen and dining as central to the sense of home. They make every effort to make mealtimes pleasant, and to create opportunities for residents to connect with others while dining.

They work to create a daily life filled with pleasurable moments, laughter and fun. The assistant cook understands that food and food preparation are filled with opportunities for activity, interactions, and relationships and is the heart of the home.


Primary functions: Cooking, cleaning kitchen and dining area.


REQUIRED SKILLS:
The assistant cook must have the ability to follow recipes and prepare food that meets the nutritional needs of the residents. Must have a working knowledge of kitchen equipment including oven, stove top, dishwasher, etc.
Must be able to work closely and cooperatively with other household caregivers and staff to meet the needs, wants, and expectations of the residents.
