Description
Normandy Farm Hotel & Conference Center is seeking a qualified individual who are interested in working in an upscale hospitality environment. An exemplary work ethic, meticulous attention to detail and a passion for providing superior customer service are necessary for all applicants.
Our ideal candidate will have an upbeat demeanor, passion for the culinary arts, and professional training or experience. In this role, you will help make cookies, cakes, breads, and other pastries according to pre-established recipes.
Work Schedule: PM Shift (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM)
Hourly rate: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour based on experience level
  • Prepares all plated desserts, chocolates, confections, entremets, frozen desserts, glazes, pies, cakes, and other bakery items in accordance with established recipe and presentation standards
  • Helps set pace and prep lists for the day with pastry staff
  • Understands and oversees banquet orders, bread orders, and ordering in absence of Executive Pastry Chef
  • Oversees pastry cart and buffet dessert table set up and presentation
  • Helps maintain the cleanliness of the bake shop
  • Assists in the fulfillment of wedding cake orders, handles special cake shapes and decorations
  • Assists in production of bread, rolls, biscuits and muffins to maintain an inventory of freshly baked goods at all times
  • Notifies Executive Pastry Chef in advance of expected product shortages
  • Requisitions supply as needed to prepare menu items
  • Ensures that work area is safe and secure • Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations
  • Maintains the highest sanitary conditions • Performs all other duties as assigned by employer

Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Completion of a culinary school program or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Must have one year of previous pastry experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the Unted States
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Basic math skills
  • Attention to detail
  • A flexible schedule, especially during the holidays
  • Must have reliable transportation
