What weโ€™re looking for:

Reporting to the Pastry Chef and Sous Chef, the Commis Pastry Chef supports the daily production of baked goods, pastries, desserts, and other pastry items within the Bronx Commissary Kitchen. This role is responsible for preparing ingredients, executing recipes to established standards, maintaining food safety and sanitation practices, and ensuring products are produced consistently and efficiently for distribution to all outlets. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and passionate about pastry and baking.

  • Work closely with the Pastry Chef, Sous Chefs, and Chef de Parties to support the daily production of pastries, breads, desserts, viennoiserie, and other baked goods within the commissary kitchen.
  • Prepare and execute mise en place accurately and efficiently, ensuring production schedules and outlet demands are met.
  • Follow recipes, production sheets, portion standards, and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all products.
  • Accurately scale, measure, mix, bake, assemble, and finish pastry and bakery items according to established specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients, fillings, creams, garnishes, doughs, batters, and other components required for daily production.
