Position Description:
Responsible for properly preparing various types of Pastries amp; Desserts and to ensure that all presentations are aesthetically appealing and adhere to the Jeff Ruby standard of quality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare all pastry items in accordance to company approved recipes.
  2. Develop new and innovative pastry items to be used as specials or potential new menu items.
  3. Ensure that all dessert components are fully stocked and prepared for service
  4. Follows all safety and health rules for sanitary food handling and kitchen cleanliness
  5. Daily sets up workstation and keeps it neat and clean.
  6. Assists coworkers to ensure efficient operation of the line.
  7. Review and comprehend recipes and other necessary documentation.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to stand and walk during 6 to 8 hour shifts.
  2. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and wipe.
  3. Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 60 pounds and place items on high and low shelves in storerooms and freezers.
  4. Ability to work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of heat and noise.
Training and Experience:
  1. Food preparation knowledge and line work experience.
  2. Ability to operate various cooking equipment.
  3. Ability to read and interpret recipes.
At least a year’s training at a culinary institute or previous restaurant training and experience required.
