Description:

The Systems Engineer is a vital member of the services team and is a key contributor at every level of our professional services and managed services delivery. The Systems Engineer serves as the highest-level subject matter expert for clients’ IT environments. The System Engineer maintains client uptime and improves their IT environments through effective monitoring, maintenance, problem identification and resolution activities. The role of the Systems Engineer is challenging and rewarding, requiring a strong and vast technical skill set, along with business acumen and impeccable interpersonal skills.


Pre-Sales Responsibilities

  • Assist in the review of Requests for Bid & Requests for Proposal
  • Lead and contribute to assessments of the clients’ technical environments, physical review, documentation of the IT assets, and participation in onsite interviews and walkthroughs. The Engineer must analyze the data collected and produce a detailed technical document that outlines the client environment with our technical recommendations.
  • Participate in phone conferences, in person meetings, validation, and proposal meetings with the Account Management team.
  • Scope and generate technical project plans, defining steps necessary for successful project completion and defining project milestones/timelines.


Technical Responsibilities

  • Drive IT engineering projects by participating in the planning of IT architecture and design.
  • Maximize projects by integrating communication, architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations.
  • Improve productivity through in-depth new product evaluations and develop resolutions to issues during implementation.
  • Maintain product and service quality by assisting in the development and documentation of technical standards.
  • Ensure successful project completion by documenting and implementing approved procedure methods.
  • Increase capabilities through the design of protocol compatibility standards, enhancements and implementation and improvement recommendations.
  • Optimize and configure the existing environments by planning and working on projects, systems, and issues of medium to high complexity.
  • Support tiers across the organization during program implementations by providing escalated troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Enhance efficiency by serving on one or more projects simultaneously as a project team lead.
  • Guide and mentor team members.
  • Mitigate risks by complying with all industry-specific regulations and approaching every project with a security mindset.
Requirements:

Required Experience:

  • Three or more years of relevant IT engineering experience.
  • Experience in TCP/IP, IPSec and Network Automation.
  • Expert in related industry specifications and standards for IEEE, ANSI and the OSI model.
  • Expert knowledge of Windows Server administration and configuration
  • Advanced knowledge of network troubleshooting, design, devices, appliances, architecture, protocols, and topology.
  • Experienced in using internal and vendor ticketing and software tools.
  • Deadline-driven with the ability to learn new technologies and work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio.
  • Effective written and spoken English communication skills with all levels of an organization.


What Will Put You Ahead:

  • 10+ years of IT experience
  • 5+ years of working for a Value-Added Reseller or Managed Service Provider
  • Cloud Experience (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS)
  • Expertise in Aruba, Fortinet, Meraki technology stacks


Your Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience (required).
  • Industry or vendor-specific certification and training, such as Microsoft, Cisco, Aruba, or Fortinet (preferred).
