CompuNet is seeking a cloud-focused MSP Engineer to operate Microsoft Azure environments across a portfolio of managed customers. This role centers on monitoring, optimization, and operational execution to ensure Azure environments are delivered reliably, consistently, and to the highest standards of service quality and compliance.
The MSP Engineer is accountable for the ongoing operation of Azure environments across multiple tenants, including monitoring, cost visibility, optimization, issue resolution, and change execution. The role requires strong escalation judgment, clear documentation, and the ability to produce handoffs that receiving teams can act on without rework.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
AZURE OPERATIONS & MULTI-TENANT MANAGEMENT
  • Operate internal and customer Azure environments across multiple tenants using Azure Lighthouse and delegated administration
  • Monitor health, performance, and security posture across managed environments
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues, engaging Microsoft support when needed
  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes according to defined service standards
  • Execute routine changes including configuration, access, and policy updates
  • Support patch management, update compliance, and baseline configuration across managed environments
  • Support customer onboarding including subscription setup, Lighthouse delegation, monitoring baselines, and policy application
  • Maintain tagging, naming, and subscription standards across managed environments

MONITORING, REPORTING & FINOPS
  • Configure and maintain Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and alerting across multiple Azure environments
  • Develop KQL queries, workbooks, and dashboards supporting proactive visibility
  • Monitor Azure consumption and apply FinOps practices including rightsizing, scheduling, reservations, and anomaly investigation
  • Track SLA adherence, surface exceptions, and report service performance against defined standards
  • Produce health, cost, and optimization reporting for customers and internal stakeholders

AUTOMATION & INFRASTRUCTURE AS CODE
  • Automate operations and tenant administration using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API
  • Read, modify, and maintain Terraform/Bicep templates supporting Azure environments
  • Maintain release and deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub
  • Contribute to internal tooling supporting automated provisioning, monitoring, and governance

BUSINESS CONTINUITY & SECURITY POSTURE
  • Support disaster recovery and backup operations including runbook execution and recovery validation
  • Operate security tooling including Microsoft Defender for Cloud and coordinate with Microsoft Sentinel workflows as required

SERVICE GOVERNANCE & DOCUMENTATION
  • Maintain Azure Policy, RBAC, and governance standards across multiple Azure tenants
  • Produce and maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
  • Support evidence preparation and process demonstration for partner program and compliance activities

ESCALATION & CROSS-TEAM COLLABORATION
Recognize when issues or opportunities exceed managed services scope and route them to the appropriate internal team
  • Produce clear, well-documented handoffs that receiving teams can act on without rework
  • Support communication standards including incident notification and scheduled review cadence
  • Contribute to customer operational reviews with clear summaries of environment status and recommendations
  • Maintain continuity of customer experience through and after escalation

Education & Experience
Minimum Requirements
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience operating Microsoft Azure environments
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), required
  • Experience across the core MSP toolchain including Partner Center, Azure Lighthouse, Azure Policy, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and KQL
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, Azure Backup, and Azure Site Recovery
  • Experience with subscription management, RBAC, multi-tenant operations, and governance practices including tagging and naming standards
  • Proficiency with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API for operational and tenant automation
  • Working experience with Terraform/Bicep templates for Azure deployments
  • Experience with application delivery using Azure DevOps or GitHub
  • Strong knowledge of Azure networking and Microsoft Entra
  • Willingness to participate in a shared on-call rotation

Desired Experience
  • Experience in a managed services or CSP environment
  • Experience with Python or JavaScript for automation or tooling
  • Experience with Azure Cost Management, FinOps practices, or the Azure FinOps Toolkit
