Reporting to the Vice President, Compensation we are seeking a Director, Incentive Compensation to lead the design, implementation, and administration of our business incentive compensation plans. You will play a meaningful role in developing programs that motivate and reward employees for achieving individual and company goals, provide ongoing Compensation partnership for the corresponding client groups and support the firm’s equity program.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of business incentive compensation programs ensuring alignment with business strategy and objectives.
  • Act as primary Compensation Partner for specific functional groups including Wealth Planning, Engagement Center and Employer Solutions by providing ongoing consultation, problem solving and guidance for all compensation related issues and projects including the annual performance and compensation process.
  • Partner with M&A team, Legal and Business stakeholders to help create business incentive compensation plans for ongoing M&A activities.
  • Lead the end-to-end business incentive plan process from efficacy review to design and execution.
  • Collaborate with functional team members across business areas (e.g., Wealth Planning, Engagement Center and Employer Solutions), Finance, Human Resources and Legal to ensure alignment of compensation strategies.
  • Support the firm’s equity administration program and process including ad-hoc analysis, contribute to projects related to equity and help prepare equity grant content for quarterly Compensation Committee meetings.
  • Conduct market research to benchmark compensation plans against industry competitors and emerging trends.
  • Participate in the design of incentive metrics that align with desired employee behaviors and business goals and help analyze the effectiveness of incentive programs and recommend improvements to optimize their impact on employee performance and company goals.
  • Develop clear and comprehensive communication strategies to educate employees on incentive plans and ensure understanding and motivation.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices in incentive compensation design.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Certified Compensation Professional designation preferred
  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience in designing, implementing, and leading incentive compensation programs preferably within Financial Services
  • Consistent track record of success in developing and implementing effective incentive programs that drive desired employee behaviors and business results
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and compensation modeling
  • Possess a problem-solving approach and exceptional project management skills
  • Challenges the status quo and always looking for ways to improve process or design effectiveness
  • M&A experience
  • Experience with long term incentive in a private equity owned firm preferred or with similar vehicles (e.g., stock options)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and social skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage several priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and compensation management software
 
 
Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role is $141,000- $188,000 However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
