Summary
The Benefits and Compensation Analyst is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's benefits programs alongside compensation functions under the guidance of the Compensation and Benefits Supervisor. This role requires a strong technical and analytical approach to evaluate, and report on various benefits and compensation plans.
Duties and Responsibilities
Compensation Functions:
- Assists in developing, implementing, and administering compensation policies and procedures.
- Conducts job audits, prepares job descriptions, and participates in compensation surveys.
- Assists in reviewing salary structures, salary adjustments, and classifications.
Benefits Functions:
- Assists in the design and administration of employee benefits programs such as health, dental, vision, life insurance, wellness, and retirement plans.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of existing system configurations and recommends changes that align with company goals and employee needs.
- Provides analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefits programs, including reporting, analysis of benefits costs, and identifying trends.
- Participates in benefits surveys and benchmarking studies to ensure competitive benefit plans.
- Responds to benefits inquiries from employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, and other general inquiries.
Common Functions:
- Maintains a working knowledge of federal and state legislation and labor contracts that may affect compensation and benefits policies.
- Supports in preparing special studies and recommendations on subjects such as incentive compensation, bonus plans, sales compensation, stock options, or retirement plans.
- Performs other related duties as requested by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years of experience in compensation and benefits analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems.
- Knowledge of local, California state, and federal employment laws and procedures related to compensation and benefits.

Must be able to perform the essential job duties. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each work day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
