Job description

The Program Manager is responsible for managing day to day operations and communications with customer enterprise sites and directing supply chain and managing customer service personnel in their response to account requests. Additionally, the person will be responsible for maintaining and tracking various metrics and cost savings. The individual will also be responsible for completing and submitting weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to required the customer and Chemico Personnel.
Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Management of the Site Program.
  • Provides team leadership and technical oversite for all direct/indirect Chemico employees responsible for customer requirements.
  • Interface with both customer and other site personnel.
  • Work with suppliers and supply chain team to develop value based quotations in response to customer RFQs.
  • Research product information from suppliers, manufacturers, internet, and reference sources.
  • Monitors purchase order request and communicate to customers, provide team status updates as required.
  • Provides technical support including product consolidation, problem identification and resolution, and maximization of material use.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and work with key personnel to resolve.
  • Identify and provide cost-saving opportunities to customer.
  • Monitor customer ISO program and ensures compliance with Chemico corporate program.
  • Present quarterly reviews to internal/external management and personnel.
  • Monitor opportunities for expansion to Chemicals management program and notifies customer Account Manager.
  • Track performance metrics for delivery, response, and volume and submits to Chemico and the customer.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly presentations on metric performance
  • Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, engineering or technical discipline and/or equivalent work experience in chemical/industrial environment preferred.
  • 2-5 years of technical experience in supply chain or chemical management requested.
  • Heat Treat, Metal Working, Extrusion background preferred
  • Computer proficient with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and the internet required.
  • Familiarity with software applications including Sage.
  • Works effectively with all levels of internal/external management, personnel, customers, and suppliers.
  • Possesses strong communications and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to utilize technology for communication of analyses, results, and problem solving.
  • Achieves goals and objectives as determined by management.
  • Works independently; self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness in obtaining product information from suppliers and manufactures to achieve goals.
  • Works effectively as contributing team member.
  • Successfully manages and prioritizes multiple projects within fluctuating operational demands.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem identification and resolution skills.
  • Accepts challenges, identifies needs and is willing to work on new projects.
  • Ability to maintain high level of visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and exposure to computer screens.
  • Occasional travel required.
