Summary The position(s) covered by this vacancy announcement is in the Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). For more information please see: AcqDemo This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command.
Responsibilities As a SECRETARY (OFFICE AUTOMATION) at the NK-0318-2 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serve as the primary management assistant for administrative duties in support of training, certification, professional development functions, acquisition program management, records management, and facilities maintenance. Assist leadership in the management of all directorate support functions. Serve as point of contact with program personnel supporting assignments to improve office operations, work processes, documentation information management, and similar functions.
Make necessary arrangements for meetings and conferences including scheduling, contacting participants, and ensuring all required materials and services are provided. Prepare a wide variety of correspondence, reports, and other documents. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the NK-2, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NK-1 (GS-4) grade level in the Federal service: Utilize a variety of office automation tools to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs. Develop, establish, update, and maintain office procedures and records maintenance of various types to ensure effective and efficient operation of the office. Manage, order, inventory maintenance, and storage of office supplies.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level. Additional Information **Value of Position (VOP): If your current basic salary is within the band, but above the stated VOP, your basic salary will not be reduced if you are selected for the position. This position is being filled under AcqDemo Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) for non-acquisition positions involving 51% or more of time in direct support of acquisition positions within Business and Technical Management Professional Career path.
