Bilingual Secretary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School is seeking a welcoming, organized, and dependable Bilingual Secretary to provide front-office and administrative support in both English and Spanish. This position serves as a key point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors, fostering a hospitable, professional, and faith-centered environment that reflects the mission and values of Catholic education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet students, families, visitors, and guests in a warm and professional manner, in person and by phone, in both English and Spanish.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and relay accurate messages.
  • Provide information regarding school programs, schedules, events, and policies to families and visitors.
  • Perform general clerical duties including data entry, filing, copying, correspondence, and record-keeping.
  • Assist with attendance tracking, student records, and basic school documentation while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Support communication between the school and families, including translating written and verbal communications as needed.
  • Assist administrators, faculty, and staff with day-to-day office needs and special projects.
  • Maintain an organized, welcoming, and professional front office environment.
  • Support arrival, dismissal, and other school operations as assigned.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) required. Previous secretarial, receptionist, or office experience preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-service mindset. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with basic computer applications, including email, word processing, and office equipment. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy school setting. Respect for and willingness to support the mission, teachings, and values of the Catholic Church.

Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the school office as needed. Ability to lift or carry office materials and supplies up to approximately 20 lbs.
