TEMPORARY CHEF

Atherton, California

Contract Through End of August

POSITION OVERVIEW

A family of five residing in Atherton, California, is seeking an experienced Personal Chef for a summer contract assignment running through the end of August. The chef will prepare lunch and dinner each day, six days per week, for a large household that enjoys a wide variety of cuisines - from approachable comfort food to more refined, fine dining-style menus.

SCHEDULE & LOCATION

  • Location: Atherton, California (on-site)
  • Schedule: Monday through Saturday
  • Meals: Lunch and dinner each day
  • Contract Duration: Now through the end of August

COMPENSATION

  • $90+ per hour, commensurate with experience
  • Paid trial day required as part of the selection process

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and prepare lunch and dinner six days per week for the family
  • Build varied menus that move comfortably between everyday comfort foods and more upscale, fine dining-style dishes
  • Source high-quality, seasonal ingredients and manage kitchen inventory
  • Set the table and serve meals in a polished, professional manner
  • Maintain an immaculate kitchen and adhere to the highest standards of food safety and sanitation
  • Accommodate guest meals, dietary preferences, and last-minute changes with grace

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Demonstrated experience as a private or personal chef
  • Strong range across cuisines and comfortable working in both casual and more elevated styles
  • Confident managing service from kitchen to table, including plating, table setting, and serving
  • Organized, dependable, and self-directed with strong communication skills
  • Discreet, professional, and comfortable working within a private household setting
  • Local candidates (Bay Area / Peninsula) will be given strong consideration
