The Doe Run Company is currently seeking a Talent Development Manager to direct the talent development strategy and processes to support employee development and performance management, while creating measurable and lasting results. Provide expertise in assessing skill needs, providing one-on-one coaching, and implementing talent development training programs to support employee attraction, engagement, and retention goals. This position is based out of our Central Office in Viburnum, MO.

Based in St. Louis, Missouri, The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company and one of the largest lead producers in the Western Hemisphere. Dedicated to environmentally responsible mineral and metal production, Doe Run has facilities in Missouri, Washington, and Arizona and operates one of the world's largest, single-site lead recycling facilities, located in Boss, MO. This position offers a competitive base pay and is eligible for the Company variable pay (bonus) plan.ย  Benefits start first day and include insurance, paid time off, and various customer discount programs.ย 

Education & Experience:ย 

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in human resources, psychology, business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 10 yearsโ€™ experience in creating and delivering employee development programs.
  • Minimum 3 yearsโ€™ experience in direct supervision of HR or training professionals.
  • Experience creating a culture of high performance with talent retention.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license.ย 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:ย 

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS, etc.
  • Proficient understanding and application of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and learning technologies.

  • Advanced talent consulting and leadership disposition to effectively develop, coach, and mentor skills growth.
  • Proficient communication, collaboration, and influence skills to build trust and respect with individuals and teams.

Job Responsibilities:ย 

  • Create, deliver, and update the talent development programs and processes, including but not limited to career paths, leadership development, skills development, onboarding, and accelerated readiness.
  • Implement talent development interventions, tools, and assessments to close skills gaps, improve talent readiness, and align with business objectives and succession planning needs.
  • Deliver train-the-trainer sessions to upskill and empower HRBPs and leaders to coach, mentor, and develop employees.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching for leadership success in performance management, employee development, and mentoring.
  • Manage the operations and maintenance training programs, coordination, and grants.
  • Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment, Physical & Lifting Requirements:ย 

  • Work is generally performed in a standard office setting.
  • Regularly required to use a telephone and computer.
  • General office environment but occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Exposed to quiet noise levels.
  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, talk, and hear; occasionally required to use repetitive motion and reach with hands/arms. Requires clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 15 pounds.
