We're looking for a detail-oriented and organized Sample Management Technician to join our energy laboratory team in Houston, TX.


In this role, you'll support the full sample-management process from receipt and documentation through storage, distribution, and disposal. You'll ensure samples are accurately entered and tracked in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), properly handled, and routed to the appropriate laboratory teams. Your accuracy, organization, and attention to detail will help keep laboratory operations running efficiently and ensure the integrity of every sample.


What You'll Do

  • Receive and document samples from clients, couriers, shipping providers, laboratory personnel, and field staff 
  • Inspect samples for proper condition and verify compliance with established quality, documentation, and regulatory requirements 
  • Accurately enter sample information, requested analyses, and related details into LIMS 
  • Label, organize, and distribute samples to the appropriate laboratory personnel 
  • Maintain secure and orderly sample-storage areas and manage sample placement, retrieval, and disposal 
  • Prepare sample kits and coordinate outbound shipments as needed 
  • Support inventory management, supply preparation, and other laboratory operations 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Demonstrated professional experience in high-volume, fast-paced environments requiring accurate data entry, organization, attention to detail, and management of multiple priorities 
  • Prior laboratory, sample handling, or regulated work environment experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer applications
