What is a sales recruiter?

A sales recruiter looks for, qualifies, and places professional sales talent. Also referred to as ‘headhunters,’ sales recruiters specialize in finding sales personnel and connecting them with companies that need them. Their job duties include conducting talent interviews, taking the time to process candidates, and building a network of professional connections. They look for front-line sales personnel, as well as people who excel in sales leadership. The qualifications to have a career as a sales recruiter include a degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field, as well as relationship-building skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a sales recruiter, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Sales Recruiter, you need a strong understanding of sales principles, talent acquisition strategies, and typically a bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), CRM platforms, and sourcing tools like LinkedIn Recruiter is essential. Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and organizational skills help build relationships with candidates and hiring managers. These capabilities are crucial for efficiently finding, attracting, and securing top sales talent in a competitive market.

What are some common challenges sales recruiters face when sourcing candidates, and how can these be overcome?

Sales Recruiters often encounter challenges such as finding candidates with both strong sales acumen and a cultural fit for the team. Additionally, competition for top sales talent can be fierce, requiring proactive sourcing and strong relationship-building skills. To overcome these hurdles, recruiters often leverage a mix of networking, social media outreach, and targeted job postings, as well as collaborating closely with sales managers to understand the specific requirements for each role. Regular communication and feedback loops with hiring teams help ensure that candidate profiles are well-aligned with business needs.

What is the difference between Sales Recruiter vs Sales Coordinator?

What does a sales recruiter do?

A sales recruiter is responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring qualified sales professionals to meet a company's staffing needs. They source candidates through job boards, networking, and social media, evaluate their skills, and coordinate interviews to ensure a good fit for sales roles. Strong communication, industry knowledge, and familiarity with applicant tracking systems are essential skills for this role.

Job description

**Salary Plus Bonus Options**

What We Need Help With:

Redefine Real Estate has a strong platform for experienced agents, but we are not recruiting enough of the right people consistently.

We need someone who can help us become significantly better at finding, communicating with, following up with, and recruiting experienced real estate agents.

This is not a position where every recruiting system is already built. We are looking for someone who can help us improve and scale it.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Prospect and build relationships with experienced real estate agents.
  • Make consistent outbound recruiting calls.
  • Manage long-term follow-up through phone, text, email, and social media.
  • Clearly communicate what makes Redefine different.
  • Understand each agent’s current production, goals, and challenges.
  • Qualify candidates before scheduling leadership interviews.
  • Schedule a consistent flow of qualified recruiting appointments.
  • Improve recruiting scripts, talk tracks, and objection handling.
  • Track recruiting activity, conversions, and results.

Initial Performance Expectations

  • 25 or more meaningful recruiting conversations per week.
  • Four or more qualified recruiting interviews per week.
  • Consistent daily prospecting and follow-up.
  • Long-term goal of helping recruit approximately eight agents per month.
  • Target conversion rate of at least 10% from qualified opportunities to signed agents.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls.
  • Persuasive without being overly aggressive.
  • Strong listener who asks good questions.
  • Organized and consistent with follow-up.
  • Comfortable with rejection and accountability.
  • Able to communicate with experienced, successful agents.
  • Interested in building a recruiting department, not simply filling a calendar.
  • Sales, recruiting, or business-development experience preferred.
  • Real estate experience is helpful but not required.

What Success Looks Like:

Success means building a predictable recruiting pipeline, creating a steady flow of qualified interviews, improving our recruiting systems, and reducing the company’s dependence on leadership for daily recruiting activity.

Company Description

Redefine Real Estate is a fast-growing, next-gen real estate team based in Metro Detroit. We don’t do outdated, slow-moving real estate. We’re digital-first, high-energy, and built around creating real opportunities for our clients and our team.

What we do is simple: we help people buy and sell homes using modern marketing, smart systems, and a lot of hustle. Our listings get massive online exposure, our buyers win in competitive markets, and our team stays busy because we generate real conversations every day.

Behind the scenes, we run like a startup. Fast decisions, constant improvement, and a team-first environment where everyone’s expected to show up, put in the work, and get better. We track performance, we coach daily, and we celebrate wins.

If you like moving fast, being on the phone, and being part of a team that’s actually building something, you’ll fit in here.
