Scope:
The Senior Sales Compensation Analyst designs, administers, and continuously improves sales compensation programs to drive desired revenue behavior and ensure accurate, timely payouts. This role blends analytical modeling, system configuration, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder communication to support Sales, Finance, HR, Payroll, and leadership.
What you will do:
  • Design and document sales compensation plans, commission rules, quota constructs, accelerators, and special incentive programs aligned to business objectives.
  • Build and maintain compensation models and simulations to quantify plan outcomes and impacts on business metrics.
  • Configure, test, and administer compensation in commission systems and CRM/ERP integrations; manage monthly/quarterly payout calculations and recoupments.
  • Reconcile commissions to bookings, revenue, and payroll; lead root-cause analysis for variances and disputes.
  • Produce regular reporting and dashboards for leadership: payout projections, plan cost forecasts, attainment analysis, and incentive ROI.
  • Act as primary point of contact for sales compensation inquiries; prepare compensation statements and participant communications.
  • Partner with Sales Operations, Finance, HR, Legal, and Payroll to ensure compliance, data integrity, tax/treatment considerations, and smooth payout flow.
  • Lead or participate in plan change communications, sales enablement, and training for sales leaders/representatives.
  • Maintain detailed plan documentation, business rules, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) for auditability and governance.
  • Drive process improvements and automation opportunities to increase accuracy and reduce cycle time.
  • Support M&A, territory/quota redesigns, and ad hoc analysis for incentive program proposals.

What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in sales compensation, incentive design, sales operations, or Sales Finance (or equivalent).
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas, modeling); strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
  • Experience working with CRM (e.g., Salesforce) and at least one compensation/commission tool or payroll system.
  • Strong stakeholder management and written/verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex rules to non-technical audiences.
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to meet strict deadlines in a recurring payout cadence.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with incentive platforms such as Xactly, Anaplan, SAP Commissions, Callidus/Commissions, or similar.
  • SQL and data manipulation skills; familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Background in SaaS/technology sales compensation, quota setting, or territory management.
  • Certification(s) in compensation, finance, or data analytics (preferred but not required).
  • Bachelor's plus advanced degree (MBA or Master's) or professional certification (CPA/CMA) considered a plus.

The annual salary range for this position is $79,615.38 - $100,384.61 USD
The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
