Job description

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings (BAH) has an opening for a full-time Proposal Writer for our Business Development (BD) team located in our Orlando, Florida office.

In this role, you will be required to act in a dynamic role responsible for providing writing support and critical editorial support for BD proposal and market research efforts.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works closely with BD Team Members, BD Managers/Directors, BD leadership, consultants, partners, and corporate/operational team members, as needed, to complete proposal and RFI response efforts.
  • Write and contribute to proposals and responses to Requests for Information (RFIs)/capability statements.
  • Write technical and management approaches.
  • Create templates and formats documentation.
  • Drive/Lead writing strategy meetings.
  • Research information on technical and scientific topics for incorporation into responses.
  • Translate technical data into meaningful customer value propositions.
  • Participate in a structured review and recovery process.
  • Execute internal and external data cells.
  • Interview internal SMEs to gather knowledge and information on current contracts.
  • Complete capabilities matrices.
  • Conduct compliance checks.
  • Maintain Knowledge Management tools/repositories on SharePoint.
  • Proofread and "one-voice" materials.
  • Respond to data calls, content requests, and research assignments.
  • May attend conferences.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor's Degree in related area

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of five (5) years proposal writing experience for a government contractor specializing in Federal/DoD services. Will consider three to five (3-5) years' proposal writing experience combined wtih a Master's degree.
  • Ability to conduct research and generate original content.
  • Comfortable with writing about new topics and performing editorial work.
  • Possess excellent writing skills for proposal content.
  • Strong organization skills necessary to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Possess strong communication skills.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to accept and apply constructive writing feedback.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable, supporting fast paced and changing schedules.
  • Exhibit excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent personal computer skills and extreme proficiency in MS Word.
  • Ability to use other MS products to include Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Basic experience with Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with the Shipleys proposal method.
  • Ability to travel if needed.
