Job description

Opportunity
At IMG, we deliver innovative IT solutions to our customers. We are seeking a Proposal Manager/Writer with experience in traditional U.S. Government proposals. This position supports IMG's strategic bids across the enterprise. This role works directly with COO, CFO, VP of Programs, and members of IMG staff to develop compelling and compliant Technical and Management Volume proposal products resulting in winning bids.
The Proposal Manager/Writer is responsible for owning and managing the proposal lifecycle from kickoff through all color review and submission. This position requires strong design, development, production, and on-time delivery of compliant, competent, and competitive responses to a wide variety of writing assignments. In addition to strong writing skills, the position requires proficiency in copyediting and document formatting. The Proposal Manager/Writer will also represent IMG as needed at meetings held by other companies or IMG customers.
The position is primarily onsite in our Fairfax, VA headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
  • Construct narratives and documents that drive IMG's business
  • Create and own the proposal process with an eye towards continuous improvement
  • Develop and curate a content library of prose, briefs, and graphics for use across the business.
  • Monitor and flag potential opportunities to key internal stakeholders.
  • Review Requests for Proposals (RFPs), data call requests, and other requirements documents to develop compliant responses.
  • Write in clear and concise language that is compliant and responsive to RFP requirements. Assignments will include leading written responses to Corporate Experience, Management, Technical, Staffing Rationale, Resumes, Past Performance, and Transition-In-Plans.
  • Develop and maintain proposal boilerplate inventory.
  • Work as part of a collaborative team to clearly articulate solution and strategy, approach to performing the work, experience, win themes, and discriminators.
  • Write clear, compliant, compelling, persuasive, and articulate proposal sections; translate complex ideas into easily understandable text.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to help improve proposal quality.
  • Develop program's document tracking spreadsheet on status of contract deliverables.

Qualifications
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to generate large documents on short timelines
  • Significant experience with the Government solicitation process
  • Ability to clearly articulate information and to listen and understand business needs and build relationships across the organization
  • Comfort working with a diverse range of disciplines including, but not limited to, design, engineering, program management, supply chain, and finance
  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Secret and/or TS Clearance
