Position at JAC Products
JAC Products has been a pioneer in the Tier I automotive space for over 50 years and continues to test the limits of functional exterior trim products. We use advanced engineering techniques and cutting-edge technology to design products that enhance the style and utility of vehicles.
By joining JAC Products as a Product Engineer, you can experience our unique culture first hand. In this position, you will have the opportunity have to lead and effectively manage the product engineering design and development process for multiple products and programs!
Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead design development and direct the design team to create 3D data and drawings
• Conduct Design & Peer Review meetings to drive design development
• Resolve design or manufacturing related concerns within established timelines
• Hold and support customer, supplier and launch team meetings
• Analyze part and assembly parts dimensionally versus theoretical data and take measures of correction if needed
• Lead in BOM development during the RFQ process
• Review Drawing and Engineering specifications during the quote process
• Develop DVPs and coordinate any and all testing needed to validate product design
• Support with Benchmarking activities that align with our core competencies and sales plan
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the Automotive Industry
• Knowledge/understanding of DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, APQP, and VA/VE process
• Experience with managing design-engineering process at the OEM level
• Mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge/understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance per ASME standards, advanced product quality planning, and IATF-16949 requirements
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies and procedure manuals and operating instructions
• Collaboration; maintains team-oriented environment, allowing for individual differences and growth
