Job Title: Planner

Job Description

The Planner develops and maintains accurate manufacturing routings and bills of materials for parts, fabrications, and assemblies in a metal fabrication environment. This role ensures that all manufacturing data is complete, precise, and aligned with quality and ISO procedures, while supporting production, purchasing, and supply chain activities through effective planning and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop routings and methods for manufacturing parts, fabrications, and assemblies to support efficient production.
  • Establish and maintain complete and accurate manufacturing bills of materials for all relevant products.
  • Create and manage item master numbers used for purchasing and manufacturing components within the bill of materials.
  • Validate estimated manufacturing times for parts, fabrications, and assemblies based on finalized routings.
  • Print, organize, and distribute planning and production paperwork to the appropriate departments in a timely manner.
  • Read and interpret prints and technical drawings to ensure accurate routings and bills of materials.
  • Adhere to ISO standards and internal quality procedures in all planning and documentation activities.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with production, supply chain, and other functional areas.
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and proactively with team members to resolve issues and support production goals.
  • Perform other planning and production-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in manufacturing engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • In lieu of a degree, equivalent work experience in a similar role and/or metal fabrication environment is required.
  • Approximately 3 years of planning or similar role experience in a metal fabrication environment with increasing responsibility is desired.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes, including cold saws, band saws, shears, laser cutting, water jet cutting, press brake forming, deburring, metal finishing, machining, welding, and assembly.
  • Ability to view and work with drawings in AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Ability to view and work with drawings in SolidWorks is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is beneficial.

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
