Our client, a well-established Manufacturing company in the Indianapolis area, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their accounting and finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where accuracy, customer service, and process improvement are valued. Responsibilities
  • Process multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain payroll records and employee compensation information
  • Review and audit payroll data including wages, deductions, taxes, and benefits
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Prepare and distribute W-2s, payroll reports, and other required documentation
  • Process garnishments, benefit deductions, and payroll adjustments
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and assist with month-end reporting
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Partner with Human Resources regarding new hires, terminations, and employee changes
  • Assist with payroll audits and support continuous process improvements
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience
  • Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience processing payroll for multiple employees and pay groups
  • Proficiency with payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, UKG, Workday, or similar systems
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
