Job description

Description Coordinates and manages all pre- and post-award processes and procedures related to MCSO grants. This includes expenditures, monitoring and reporting on grant funds and a variety of budget related compliance issues. Under general direction, assists the CFO with accounting functions and financial processes for the MCSO related to grants.

Examples of Duties Writes and edits grant narratives and budgets. Collects and organizes supporting documentation for grant proposals. Reviews grants budgets, routinely provides forecast reports to review with the CFO and others as necessary.

Assists in the development of the MCSO's annual grants budget. Works with colleagues to resolve issues, answer questions, review information and provide information on budgetary issues related to grants. Establishes appropriate coding for grant funds in enterprise financial software.

Establishes financial controls and systems for new grants/programs. Reviews payroll reports with CFO and OFM to ensure grants are appropriately charged. Draws down federal and state funds for grant reimbursement as necessary.

Creates and submit grant extension requests as needed to expend grant funds. Serves as a liaison between external auditors and Program Managers during project management and review of grant-related programs. Reviews process and procedures related to grants and revises as necessary Other duties as assigned and directed by management.

Typical Qualifications College degree required. One to three plus years of grant governmental experience is required. Any combination of education and work experience meeting the minimum requirements is acceptable.

PeopleSoft or similar accounting system experience/knowledge strongly preferred. Proven intermediate level computer skills in Excel and Word. Excellent analytical skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people. Must have strong organizational skills and time management skills. Supplemental Information Independent judgment is exercised on a regular basis with limited supervision.
