A Payroll Master is responsible for overseeing payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, and maintaining compliance with payroll laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Payroll Operations: Oversee the entire payroll process, ensuring that all employee salaries, bonuses, and deductions are calculated accurately and processed on time.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including tax withholdings and reporting requirements.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation, including employee time sheets, payroll reports, and tax filings.
- Collaboration: Work closely with HR and finance departments to ensure accurate employee data and resolve any payroll-related issues or discrepancies.
- Reporting: Prepare and present payroll reports to management, summarizing payroll data and trends.
- Policy Implementation: Implement and enforce payroll policies and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in payroll processing.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, human resources, or a related field is typically required.
- Experience: Extensive experience in payroll processing and administration, usually 5+ years, is preferred.
