Job description

AP/AR & Payroll Specialist
Mount Vernon | $52-60k

A growing construction company in the Mount Vernon area is seeking an experienced AP/AR & Payroll Specialist to join their team. The AP/AR & Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, bi-weekly payroll, bookkeeping, and various office responsibilities.

AP/AR & Payroll Specialist Responsibilities

The AP/AR & Payroll Specialist will manage approximately 50+ accounts payable invoices per week, including invoices with multiple line items. Contractors are responsible for coding customer job expenses, while the AP/AR & Payroll Specialist will enter invoices into QuickBooks Online and prepare checks for contractors. Utility invoices and other expenses will also be processed as part of the role.

The AP/AR & Payroll Specialist will manage accounts receivable using Buildertrend and QuickBooks Online. Customer invoices are sent through Buildertrend and must be entered accurately into both systems. The AP/AR & Payroll Specialist will not be responsible for collections, as Project Managers handle customer follow-up.

Payroll & Bookkeeping

The AP/AR & Payroll Specialist will process bi-weekly payroll through ADP for a small team that includes full-time hourly employees, salaried owners, a part-time bookkeeper, and subcontractors. Responsibilities will include entering payroll information, business incentive commissions, and 401(k) information into ADP. ADP will handle the necessary calculations.

Additional responsibilities for the AP/AR & Payroll Specialist include managing the bookkeeping email, assisting with general bookkeeping, and supporting other office and administrative needs as they arise.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Strong experience with QuickBooks Online
  • Previous ADP payroll experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred:

  • Experience with Buildertrend
  • Previous construction industry experience
  • Experience processing payroll for a small business
