LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Accounting/Finance Associate with 1-2 yr experience to work for a growing, fast paced not for profit organization near the Jamaica, Queens area.
Position Overview
A well-established nonprofit organization in the Jamaica, Queens area is seeking a motivated recent college graduate to join their team as an Entry-Level Financial/Operations Analyst. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong Excel skills and foundational analytical experience to grow within a mission-driven environment, with hands-on exposure to payroll processes and nonprofit financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation using Excel
• Support financial operations including tracking expenses, budgets, and account activity
• Prepare and maintain reports to support leadership and program teams
• Analyze datasets to identify trends, discrepancies, and process improvements
• Assist with payroll processing, including data entry and audits (training provided)
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with internal policies
• Collaborate with accounting and HR teams on various operational initiatives
• Provide ad hoc reporting and administrative support as needed
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required (Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field preferred)
• 1 year of analytical or internship experience (can include internships or campus roles)
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis) required
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
