Job description

Printers Row Publishing Group (PRPG), a premier trade publisher in the United States, is searching for a Marketing Designer. 

Supporting the seven publishing imprints of San Diego-based Printers Row Publishing Group (PRPG), the Marketing Designer is responsible for creating contemporary, high-impact visual assets across B2C and B2B channels to drive awareness and sell-through of PRPG titles. The primary focus of this role is developing compelling digital assets for e-commerce platforms, including product imagery, A+ content, lifestyle graphics, and retail partner storefronts, alongside traditional retail signage, sales brochures, and marketing collateral. The Marketing Designer also collaborates closely with the in-house studio photographer to support photo editing, asset management, and occasional on-set photography assistance.

What You Will Be Doing: 

Retail Signage/Retail Brochures

  • Design and produce retail signage for key accounts in compliance with retailer specs and brand style guide requirements.
  • Create pallet skirt designs, planogram displays, and endcap graphics for key retail accounts.
  • Design seasonal, promotional, and entertainment-themed retail marketing materials.
  • Create and maintain sales one-sheets and catalogs for trade, gift, and specialty sales channels.

E-Commerce & Digital Asset Design

  • Design and deliver optimized product images, lifestyle graphics, and brand content for major e-commerce platforms including Amazon, Target.com, Walmart.com, and other key retail partner sites.
  • Create Amazon A+ Content modules and Brand Store pages that meet platform specifications and drive conversion.
  • Develop digital ad banners, sponsored product graphics, and display assets sized and formatted for each retail partner’s digital ecosystem.
  • Design and update homepage banners, category pages, and promotional graphics for PRPG imprint websites, including Dreamtivity, Canterbury Classics, Silver Dolphin Books, Studio Fun Books, Portable Press, and Thunder Bay Press.
  • Produce social media graphics and digital marketing assets optimized for platform-specific dimensions and formats.
  • Stay current with e-commerce platform design guidelines, evolving retailer specs, and digital design best practices.

Marketing Collateral

  • Create and update sales one-sheets for all PRPG imprints.
  • Create and update sales brochures.

3D Retail Renderings

  • Create, render, and update 3D retail fixture models and planogram visualizations for sales presentations using Lightwave.
  • Develop and render retail signage images within 3D environments for client approvals.
  • Design new retail fixture concepts as needed.

Studio Photography Support

  • Assist the studio photographer with post-production editing of product and lifestyle photography using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, including retouching, color correction, and background cleanup.
  • Prepare and upload final photo assets to PhotoShelter and other DAM systems, applying accurate metadata, keywords, and tagging for discoverability.
  • Support on-set studio photography as needed, including product setup, prop styling, and operating camera equipment under the photographer's direction.
  • Maintain and organize the digital image library, ensuring files are correctly named, versioned, and archived per workflow standards.
  • Prepare image assets for e-commerce delivery, including resizing, file format conversion, and compliance with retailer upload specifications.

Administrative

  • Gather art assets and technical specifications for all assigned projects.
  • Maintain an organized portfolio of presentation visuals and completed design work.
  • Manage project timelines and communicate proactively with internal stakeholders.
  • Other duties may be assigned, directed, or requested.


What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • One to three years' working knowledge of a 3D design or modeling program, such as Lightwave, is required.
  • Experience with Adobe Create Suite preferred.
  • Interest in developing consumer-facing retail signage and sales materials.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills. Familiarity with publishing industry terms helpful. Should be able to draft reports and correspondence.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to identify and assess issues and make decisions in a timely manner.
  • Interpersonal skills – the individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others’ ideas, and exhibits willingness to try new things.
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized.
  • Must possess analytical abilities.
  • Must be able to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines. 
  • Problem solving – the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully, and maintains confidentiality.
Salary: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00
