Job description

Location: Chicago or Minneapolis (Hybrid)

Experience: 3 to 5 years

About the Role

You will own digital creative for our two direct-to-consumer brands, eyebobs and American Optical. Paid social, email, landing pages, and Amazon PDP content, from concept through production-ready files. This is a hands-on seat with real latitude over how the work gets made.

We are looking for someone classically trained and digitally fluent. You know why a layout works, not just that it does, and you can move at the speed paid social demands without letting the craft slip. Both halves matter here.

You will report to the Art Director and work alongside them on brand-level projects that reach our wholesale and retail channels. If you like pixel-perfect digital execution and want a hand in brand systems, this is a good fit.

What You'll Do
  • Own digital design for both D2C brands, including paid social ads, email campaigns, landing pages, web banners, and organic social content.
  • Create A+ and PDP content across Amazon and .com to bring products to life where customers shop.
  • Lead creative execution for seasonal launches, promotions, and product drops.
  • Curate and manage brand content assets, including the existing library, campaign outputs, and UGC across channels.
  • Partner with the Art Director on brand projects, from pitch decks and sales collateral to identity refreshes and campaign work.
  • Work directly with internal and external stakeholders, presenting your thinking and iterating on feedback.
  • Keep visual consistency across every touchpoint, working within brand guidelines so channel creative ladders up to central brand work.
  • Handle asset post-production and scaling: adapt and resize approved creative for all placements across paid media, email, web, and occasional print.
  • Track where performance creative and digital storytelling are going, and bring ideas back to the team.
What We're Looking For
  • Three to five years of professional design experience, or a portfolio that clearly proves you can do this work.
  • Classical design fundamentals. Typography, layout, color, hierarchy, and composition. You can build a system, not just execute inside one.
  • A portfolio with genuine digital chops. Ads that stop the scroll, emails that look like someone cared, landing pages that convert.
  • Brand-level work in that same portfolio. We want to see more than ad units and template resizes.
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma. Working knowledge of Asana or a comparable project management tool.
  • Comfort designing across multiple brands with different voices and visual systems, switching gears without losing your edge.
  • Photo editing and retouching skills. You can take a product shot from fine to scroll-stopping.
  • Short-form video editing for social (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) and product or lifestyle cutdowns for paid media. Premiere, CapCut, or similar.
  • Clear communication. You can explain your design decisions, ask good questions, and take feedback without taking it personally.
Bonus Points For
  • Motion design in After Effects or a similar program.
  • Copywriting instincts. Not a full copywriter, but a punchy headline, a clean CTA, or alt copy for an ad variant goes a long way on a small team.
  • Experience designing for performance marketing, including A/B testing creative and working alongside paid media teams.
  • Competency with AI design tools such as Adobe Firefly or Midjourney to scale production, especially for high-volume paid social.
What You'll Get
  • Ownership of digital creative for two established D2C brands, with the autonomy that comes with it.
  • Range across D2C, wholesale, and retail, which builds a broader skill set faster than a single-brand role.
  • A close working relationship with the Art Director and a team that values craft, gives honest feedback, and ships work we are proud of.
