United Way of Connecticut is seeking an experienced Marketing Designer to join our PDC team. In this role, you will create engaging digital and print materials that elevate the United Way of Connecticut brand, strengthen community outreach and support programs that connect Connecticut residents with essential resources.

What You'll Do

  • Develop unique, stand-out creative content using still graphics, video and animation, including GIFs. 
  • Lead the design   and development of digital and print materials, including brochures, displays, presentations, annual reports, posters, booklets, newsletters, email graphics, infographics, social media content and more. 
  • Design interactive landing pages, maintain United Way of Connecticut websites and regularly update web content. 
  • Create and publish content across social media platforms and support the development and promotion of digital advertising campaigns. 
  • Lead the production and editing of in-house video content. 
  • Collaborate with external vendors on outsourced video and creative projects to ensure high-quality, brand-compliant results. 
  • Track and test the performance and responsiveness of marketing assets across websites, email campaigns, newsletters, social media platforms and landing pages. 
  • Help maintain consistent branding and messaging across all communication channels. 
  • Oversee the production and distribution of printed marketing materials. 
  • Manage and prioritize multiple creative projects from initial concept through final delivery. 
  • Manage relationships, timelines and deliverables with external marketing contractors. 
  • Coordinate marketing deliverables for contractual and grant-funded projects while meeting required timelines, specifications and budget expectations. 
  • Collaborate with internal departments to creatively support marketing, communication and outreach goals.

  • You may begin your day designing an infographic that makes complex information easier for the community to understand. 
  • You'll collaborate with an internal department to transform a new initiative into engaging marketing materials. 
  • You may update website content, create social media graphics or design an interactive landing page. 
  • You'll balance multiple projects while ensuring deadlines, brand standards and quality expectations are met. 
  • You may edit a video, prepare materials for print or work with an external vendor to bring a creative concept to life.

Schedule & Environment

  • Full-Time: 40 hours per week. 
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, typically 8:30 AM-5:00 PM. 
  • Hybrid Schedule: Four remote workdays and one in-office day each week, typically Tuesday. 
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under tight deadlines. 
  • Occasional travel to vendors, suppliers or external meetings may be required.

Requirements


Who Thrives Here?

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, graphic design, communications, video production and editing or a related field. 
  • Five or more years of experience working in marketing, graphic design, communications or a similar creative field. 
  • Three or more years of experience working in a nonprofit environment. 
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel. 
  • Experience with web-authoring software and website content management. 
  • Experience developing content for social media platforms, engaging audiences across multiple channels, analyzing campaign performance and staying current with emerging social media trends. 
  • Working  knowledge of HTML and CSS. 
  • Strong      understanding of layout principles, visual storytelling and design concepts. 
  • Experience creating and editing video content. 
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and deliverables simultaneously. 
  • Ability to receive and incorporate feedback while building positive working relationships across departments. 
  • Strong creative and critical-thinking skills with excellent attention to detail. 
  • Ability to use sound judgment, logic and problem-solving skills in day-to-day work.
