Program Overview Peraton provides USSOCOM, its Component Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), deployed forces, CIO/J6, and end-users with high-quality IT platform and network services over an eight-year period. About The Role The Deployed Systems Support Engineer will be responsible for the following: The Deployed Systems Support Engineer must be self-motivated and strong communicators and a strong mechanical aptitude is also required. Key functions of the Deployed Systems SupportEngineer includes technical assistance and training to end users and Contractors, as well as the definition of specifications to engineers. Strong aptitude with both networked and wireless capabilities are required. This role is a vital component of the current operational footprint. It requires a specialist capable of navigating complex, high-stakes environments with minimal oversight. This position is located at Fort Bragg, NC. * Must be self-motivated and strong communicators and a strong mechanical aptitude is also required.
* Technical assistance and training to end users and Contractors, as well as the definition of specifications to engineers. Strong aptitude with both networked and wireless capabilities is required.
* May be required to update/maintain Commercial Solutions for Classified, wireless (NIPR, SIPR and Gray), Executive Comms Kits, Certification Authority Management etc.
* Providing system and network services to install, uninstall, configure, operate, maintain, defend, update, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair deployed systems and
* Providing subject matter expertise for deployed systems and networks
* Conducting training deployment and deployed personnel during exercises, in formal schools, and during real world
* Conducting system education and training seminars for end users, designers, contractors, and others, as requested
* Continuous training on assigned systems (both fixed and mobile) as these items receive updates and enhancements. * Assisting end users and Contractors with jobsite failure analysis and hands-on work assignments when required.
* Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission
* Subject matter expertise in MANET/MESH and Data Mesh architectures and hands-on experience with tactical MANET radios. Qualifications Required * Min 14 years with HS degree, 12 years with AS/AA degree, 10 years with BS/BA, 8 years with MS/MA, 6 years with a PHD
* DoD TS/SCI clearance is required
* DoD IAT II Certification. * At least two years of previous Deployed Systems Support Engineer experience or equivalent experience is required
* Experience integrating Linux and Windows based systems
* Experience with mobile computing devices integration into a network. Highly Desired * CCNA strongly preferred.
* Senior communications background with extensive experiential maturity. * Desired experience with deployed network systems, configuring and maintaining routers, switches, radios, servers, virtualization platforms, and edge computer systems across classified and unclassified environments
* SOF experience is STRONGLY desired.
* Must be DoW 8140 compliant under the Work Role Code 451 - System Administrator- Advanced level or higher by 1 Oct 26.
Details Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
