Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.38 - $26.65 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Logistical Support Representative I
  • Location: Glenbrook Hospital
  • Full Time/Part Time: FT
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-430pm
  • Required Travel: Floating between Highland Park, Northwest Community and Skokie Hospitals as needed


A Brief Overview:
The Logistical Support Associate I plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless functioning of the hospital by providing support in various logistical and supply chain operations. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory, handling deliveries, and assisting in the distribution of supplies to different hospital departments.
What you will do:

  • Pick up and deliver specimens, medical supplies, mail, packages, equipment, and other materials between hospital departments and off-site locations

  • Sort, process, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and interoffice correspondence to designated locations.

  • Maintain established delivery schedules and routes while ensuring timely and accurate service.

  • Utilize tracking systems, handheld scanners, manifests, and other technology to document pickups and deliveries.

  • Verify chain of custody and ensure proper handling of confidential, sensitive, and time-critical materials.

  • Distribute supplies to various hospital departments according to their needs and priorities.

  • Support departmental projects and perform other logistics, courier, and mailroom duties as assigned.

  • Load, unload, transport, and secure supplies, mail, specimens, and equipment safely and efficiently

  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance, safety, or operational concerns.

  • Operate organization vehicles in accordance with all traffic laws, safety policies, and departmental procedures.

  • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with hospital staff, vendors, and external customers.

  • Handle hazardous materials with proper safety protocols.

What you will need:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in logistics, inventory management, or supply chain operations is desirable.
  • Must possess a valid Illinois class "D" driver's license
  • Must have held a valid driver's license for three (3) years prior to the date of application
  • Must have a good driving record subject to State driver motor vehicle verification to comply with Hospital insurance requirements
  • Within three (3) years of date of application or promotion, must not have been convicted of:
    • Driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs
    • Reckless driving
    • Leaving the scene of an accident involving death or personal injury
    • Drag racing
    • Manslaughter
    • Reckless homicide
  • Reckless conduct from the use of a motor vehicle or other serious driving infractions/convictions
  • Prior experience in warehousing and/or inventory management in any industry is preferred but not required
  • Prior experience in a hospital setting is preferred but not required
