Job description

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervises 4 team members: Motocross Racing Technologist, Senior Fabricator, Senior Coordinator Racing Parts and Transportation and the Transportation Specialist.
  • Designs high performance parts for motocross racing.
  • Creates engineering drawings for racing motorcycles.
  • Analyzes data collected on racing motorcycles to design parts to further enhance performance and reliability.
  • Organizes and tracks all technical projects created or modified in the machine shop to ensure all schedules are met.
  • Establishes the day-to-day schedule of the machine shop based on input from management regarding priorities.
  • Programs the CNC machine to create parts used to meet the needs of the Kawasaki Pro Racing team.
  • Sets up, operates and maintains the Kawasaki CNC machining center to meet the needs of the Kawasaki racing team.
  • Machines parts to specific dimensions
  • Exercises the highest degree of safety when operating all equipment and machinery; reports any injuries or unsafe working conditions to management.
  • Keeps tools, parts and equipment organized at all times.
  • Maintains superior understanding of all mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Researches appropriate supply vendors in an effort to locate quality materials at the best prices.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding all company information, product technology, research and development components, etc.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is mandatory; a Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from four-year
college is preferred; and minimum fifteen years related experience and/or training in a race team management environment; and ten years' experience programming and operating and CNC machining center; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
  • Must demonstrate a leadership skillset
  • Must demonstrate solid experience and understanding of motorcycle racing.
  • Must exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to successfully prioritize and organize multiple, competing tasks.
  • Must be extremely detail and deadline oriented.
  • Must bring energy and enthusiasm to group or team efforts.
  • Must have experience with Solidworks or other CAD software.
  • Must have experience working with Lotus Notes and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Approximate percentage of travel required >50%.
Salary: $115,000 - $120,000
