Automotive Technician - Race Support Mechanic Part-Time or Full-TimeCompensation: $30-$45 per hour, depending on experience Location: Mid-Willamette ValleyJoin a privately owned, fully equipped shop serving both a commercial fleet and an active off-road/drag racing program. We're looking for a dependable, detail-oriented technician who enjoys a wide variety of mechanical work in a professional, low-pressure environment. Unlike traditional repair shops, there are no flat-rate hours or customer billing responsibilities.Primary ResponsibilitiesService and maintain Ford E250/E350 vans and 2004-2016 Ford F-150 pickupsPrepare Broncos, Jeeps, UTVs, and competition UTVs for off-road racingAssist with drag boat maintenance, race preparation, and trackside support for ADBA and CDBA eventsRemove and install engines, transmissions, and drivetrain componentsPerform routine diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenanceBuild and install braided fuel, cooling, and plumbing systemsAssist with fabrication tasks including fitting, grinding, and tack weldingComplete mechanical projects using established build plansParticipate in race weekends and pit crew operations as neededShop FeaturesClimate-controlled private facilityComplete Snap-on tool inventory and fabrication equipmentProDemand diagnostic information systemNAPA Car Care ProLink with OEM purchasing accountsOffice 365 task management with photos, notes, and deadlines for organized workflowMinimal paperwork and no customer invoicingQualificationsExperience working on automotive, fleet, off-road, racing, or performance vehiclesStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilitiesAble to work independently and stay productive without close supervisionComfortable using computers for diagnostics, parts lookup, and work managementOrganized, reliable, and takes pride in maintaining a clean workspaceValid driver's license with a clean driving recordPart-time and full-time applicants are welcomeBenefitsCompetitive hourly pay based on experienceHealth insurance for full-time employeesCorporate profit-sharing opportunitiesTravel expenses covered when attending race eventsAdditional InformationComplete engine and transmission rebuilds are handled by outside specialists.
