  • Patrols, periodically, all buildings and grounds of Bangor Raceway & OTB.
  • Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
  • Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and assists in apprehends or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
  • Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred.
  • Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
  • Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
  • Sounds alarm or notifies supervision verbally or by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
  • Permits authorized persons to enter property.
  • Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory staff.
  • May be called on to regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic to maintain orderly flow.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Six months related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word.
  • Must be able to read and write in English and have good verbal communicating skills.
  • Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, fractions, decimals, percentages etc.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must meet licensing requirements of the Maine Harness Racing Commission. CPR certification is desirable.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for the state in which you reside. In addition to the pre-employment background check, this position will be subject to periodic checks of your driving record in order to determine your continued suitability to drive company and/or patron vehicles
  • Must qualify for licensing with the Maine Harness Racing Commission.
  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
