Job Title: Mailroom & Printing Operations Assistant

Industry: Professional Services / Office Operations

Location: Washington, DC

Assignment Type: Contract-to-Hire (approximately 3–4 month contract period before potential permanent hire)

Pay: $18 – $20/ hr

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM ET (40 hours/week, fully onsite)

Job Description:

The Mailroom & Printing Operations Assistant will support daily print production, mailroom services, and general office operations for a busy corporate environment. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting employees across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate digital print and copy equipment, including Canon or similar production machines
  • Process print requests submitted electronically and in person
  • Support incoming, outgoing, and interoffice mail distribution
  • Coordinate courier and package deliveries through major shipping providers
  • Troubleshoot minor printer and copier issues and escalate service needs when necessary
  • Answer employee questions related to print requests, shipping, and mail procedures
  • Maintain inventory levels for toner, paper, and mailroom supplies
  • Assist with meeting setups, office moves, and general facilities support tasks
  • Provide occasional front desk coverage, including greeting visitors and answering phones
  • Maintain organized workflows and communicate effectively with internal teams

Qualifications:

  • 1–3+ years of experience in a mailroom, print center, office services, or professional office environment
  • Experience working with Canon digital press equipment or comparable systems preferred
  • Familiarity with printer/copier troubleshooting and mail handling procedures
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the organization
  • Spanish language skills are a plus
  • High school diploma or GED required
