Mailroom Scanning Clerk


Location: In Office - Tampa, FL

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15 per hour/DOE

Schedule:  Monday to Friday | 7:00am-3:30pm

Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Mailroom Scanning Clerk to support daily mailroom and document processing operations. This role is responsible for sorting, opening, organizing, preparing, and processing incoming and outgoing mail and documents with accuracy and efficiency.

The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment that requires accuracy, consistency, and timely completion of tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Mail Sorting, Scanning, and Document Preparation

  • Open, sort, organize, and prepare incoming mail and documents for processing
  • Ensure accurate identification, categorization, and routing of mail items
  • Performs high speed, high volume production and scanning tasks such as printing and inserting documents to process general correspondence, cards, and inserts. 
  • Sets up equipment, loads materials, clears jams, and other simple malfunctions as needed
  • Support outgoing mail preparation, including packaging, labeling, and postage
  • Research mail and document details as needed to ensure proper handling

Operational Support

  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records
  • Coordinate with internal teams to support timely and accurate mail and document flow
  • Help maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work area
  • Follow company procedures for mail handling, document processing, and quality control
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Minimum of 1 year office related experience.
  • Proficient in the use of basic office equipment and applications specific to the function
  • Requires strong attention to detail
  • Verbal and written communication skills must be clear, tactful, and constructive
  • Data entry skills
  • Ability to work independently or within a team.
  • Consistent attendance and timeliness.
  • Time management skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift to 30–50 pounds (e.g., banker’s boxes)
