The UHS Corporate Legal Department is hiring a Litigation Counsel to support general litigation, including affirmative litigation, and government investigations for the UHS Legal Department. The ideal candidate will be someone with a strong commercial litigation background and/or experience in the healthcare industry or with government investigation response.

Key Responsibilities
  • Litigation Management โ€“ Oversee and manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, trial preparation, and settlement discussions
  • Affirmative Litigation โ€“ Investigate and assess potential class action litigation to be asserted on behalf of the company and work closely with outside counsel in all phases of such litigation
  • Government Investigations โ€“ Respond to government investigations involving state and federal agencies
  • Strategic Counsel โ€“ Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on litigation risk, dispute resolution, and the impact of litigation on business operations
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration โ€“ Partner with internal teams such as compliance, finance, revenue cycle, operations, insurance, and risk management to develop litigation strategies that align with business objectives
Qualifications

Law degree with 3-5 years' experience in commercial litigation or in the handling of government investigations.

  • Experience with the healthcare industry or with medical providers preferred, but not required
  • Must be admitted into the state bar or have in-house counsel license
