Job description

Our client is seeking a Legal Operations Manager for a hybrid position based in New York City. This role executes and improves core legal operations processes to enhance efficiency, consistency, and client service, combining operational management, legal research, and administrative oversight with a focus on financial and compliance workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Design, document, and improve legal workflows including onboarding, conflict checks, engagement letters, and jurisdictional risk analysis
  • Manage subcontractor onboarding, template agreements, and process improvements
  • Conduct internal and external audit readiness reviews
  • Oversee legal vendors and projects including SOW collection, budget tracking, and deadline monitoring
  • Support legal technology implementation and department training
  • Maintain compliance documentation and governance standards
  • Track expenditures, assist with quarterly forecasts, and prepare budget reports
  • Maintain professional licenses and audit compliance with regulations governing investigations and diligence services
  • Coordinate corporate governance documentation and liaise with domestic and international corporate services providers
  • Conduct research on data privacy, employment, licensing, subpoenas, insurance, and cross-border transactions and summarize findings for CLO and senior leadership

Requirements

  • 3โ€“5 years in a paralegal or legal operations role within a corporate legal department or professional services firm
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and sound judgment
  • Proficient in legal research tools with ability to deliver accurate, timely insights
  • Clear professional writing and confident communication skills
  • Advanced Excel and Outlook; familiarity with Word, Teams, and legal technology tools
  • Undergraduate degree; paralegal experience required

Salary: $90,000 - $125,000 (non-exempt + some OT)
